Bilingual Mental Health Therapist BONUS OPPORTUNITY

This is a Contract position in Denver, CO posted July 1, 2020.

Overview Provide behavioral health services to primarily Hispanic consumers in Spanish and English.

Serve as Care Coordinator and provide ongoing treatment to consumers.

Work within the Centro Dones de Nuestra Comunidad Team to provide services and programming that meets the needs of an underserved community.

BONUS OPPORTUNITY Three phase bonus paid out in 3
– $500 increments.

$500 on first paycheck, $500 on 6 month anniversary, and $500 at 1 year anniversary to equal $1,500 total.

In addition to the three phase bonus, there is an additional salary differential provided.

Responsibilities Essential Duties: Provide services in clinic-based, school-based, primary care-based and community-based locales Mental health, behavioral health and wellness-promoting services provided primarily but not necessarily exclusively to Hispanic, Spanish-Speaking consumers Caseload might include non-Latinx/non-Spanish-speaking consumers in order to assure responsive care to all consumers seeking service Provide care and service coordination assuring effective, integrated and comprehensive treatment plans Provide initial screening, triage, and referral services for consumers Actively engage consumers in treatment planning and goal setting to meet agreed upon outcomes Provide behavioral health counseling/psychotherapy using assessment, individual, group, couples, family, case management and community development modalities that most effectively and responsively serve the Hispanic/Spanish-speaking community and for other consumer communities as necessary Identify general and culturally specific health-promoting and risk-inducing factors that impact consumers’ lives and functioning Provide psychoeducational/skills training to staff and community Actively coordinate care with other internal and external providers Provide and/or facilitate Spanish-language interpretation services as appropriate Maintain appropriate professional standards and provides timely, appropriate follow-up for consumers.

Meet required number of consumer service hours Timely completion of all clinical and reporting documentation Incorporate PCOMS into clinical service provision and supervision process Compliance with individualized training plan Participate in supervision at times and intervals agreed upon with supervisor Attend mandatory trainings and engage in staff development to enhance professional growth.

Help ensure fees are collected as necessary Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others Initiate and maintain positive interactions with others including timely response to phone calls, email and other requests Exhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment.

Collaborate effectively with community resource provider agencies Provide leadership in attending to the needs of un
– and under-served communities through service excellence and by providing consultation, training and support to other Jefferson Center teams/colleagues This position reports to the Cultural Relevancy Manager Qualifications Relevant Education/Licensure: Master’s Degree (from an accredited university/college) in social work, counseling, psychology or related field Clinical licensure as LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or Clinical Psychologist is required.

LCSW highly preferred.

Required Work Experience: Two (2) or more years of related experience and/or training Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients and with under-served communities Experience working with clients of all ages (children, adolescents, young adults, adults and older adults) who present with wide ranging acuity, severity and complexity Experience in effectively engaging clients as partners and forming strong therapeutic alliances to support existing strengths, encourage recovery and enhance treatment outcomes Experience coordinating complex care across various agencies in order to serve clients with multiple areas of need (e.g., health, mental health, substance use, domestic violence, social service needs, educational, housing, etc.) Technical Skills and Knowledge: Fluidly bilingual in Spanish and English with language skill sufficient to effectively deliver complex mental health interventions is required.

Language and communication proficiency testing required.

Possess working understanding of the concepts of Healthcare Equity, Health Disparities and Cultural Relevance and of their impact on service planning, service coordination and service provision Possess awareness of the relationship between social indicators (such as immigration history, racism, access barriers, poverty, residency status, etc.) and biopsychosocial functioning Possess working understanding of the impact of trauma on consumers’ lives and functioning and possess facility with trauma-sensitive/trauma-informed approaches Effective in multi-agency, multi-disciplinary and collaborative service environments Knowledge of Strength-based, Recovery/Resiliency-oriented, Wellness-enhancing treatment approaches Knowledge of culturally responsive models of care and commitment to provision of culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate services
