Community Liaison – COVID19 Relief

Jefferson Center for Mental Health

This is a Contract position in Wheat Ridge, CO posted July 3, 2020.

Overview This is a temporary position, 9 to 11 months Builds relationships with local communities and community organizations to establish understanding and dialogue about the COVID-19 Crisis Counseling Program.

Educates community gatekeepers about the program.

Solicits feedback about community needs and effectiveness of the outreach program.

Develops and updates resource lists, and helps survivors link with needed resources.

Responsibilities Essential Duties: Introduces and explains the Crisis Counseling Program to local communities and community organizations to facilitate communities awareness and endorsement of the program Serves as a cultural broker and as a liaison between the CCP and cultural groups.

Regularly outreaches community gate keepers to ensure their understanding of the services offered by the program Networks with community resources to identify referral mechanisms and procedures.

Collaborates with Jefferson Center Navigation Team to develop an updated list of community resources.

Provides training to crisis counselors and other service providers regarding referral resources Meets regularly with Team Leader to report successes and concerns as identified by the community.

Collaborates with other members of the CCP team.

Engages in team work and joint problem-solving.

Completes required CCP documentation within required time frames.

Demonstrates initiative and creativity in developing ways to offer support to those affected by COVID-19.

Other Duties: Maintains an acceptable attendance record.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment: Ability to operate a personal computer.

Ability to attend meetings at a variety of locations.

Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related field, with 2 or more years’ experience in providing counseling or other supportive outreach.

After hire, must complete FEMA required training.

Must have valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record while employed at Jefferson Center.

Meets the requirements of applicable federal, state and organizational background checks.
