Structural Analysis Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Satellite Structural Engineer working on satellite systems to join our team located in
Centennial, CO. Under general supervision and with regular review, this position supports the engineering staff in the analysis, investigation and resolution of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information, and potential problems to be encountered with work reviewed regularly for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Tasks involve the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance. Documents findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to engineering staff. Contacts are primarily internal with infrequent inter-organization or customer contact on routine matters. May provide direction to design or technician staff.


  • System engineering and technical design and analysis for studies and missions from bid generation, through to launch and operations, with a structural system focus.
  • Perform structural subsystem level design, including requirement analysis, mission analysis, and design trade-offs.
  • Perform structural analysis tasks, including hand calculations to support early feasibility and subsystem / system level models.
  • Develop innovative but practical solutions to mechanical interface issues arising in design, assembly, integration and test of satellite systems.
  • Perform mechanical test predictions, testing, evaluation and correlation.
  • Generate mechanical interface control documentation, test plans and procedures.
  • Support the wider team in mission and operational concept development for satellite missions.
  • Liaise with all levels of program and engineering staff on structural design and test matters and support other teams / disciplines as necessary.
  • Apply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve engineering problems.
  • Prepare technical responses to bids, presentation materials and reports, for a variety of applications and customers.
  • Support customer and supplier meetings and presentations at all project stages.
  • Liaise with customer and supplier staff, and staff from other parts of GA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
